Food Photography Workshop at The Lift
in Jackson Hole Wyoming
We had the amazing opportunity for our class to go and stay at a cabin for 3 days, and learn, share, teach, and breath everything photography. Waking up at 4 am to get that perfect spot before the sunrise, and staying up late to get beautiful night shots of the starry sky. I had an amazing time and can’t thank Caryn Esplin, Geradro Sumano, & Alex Brown enough for all of their efforts of planning, organizing, and running the whole trip. We did shoot after shoot all day for 3 days. Exhausting, but very rewarding.
One of our photo shoots was in Jackson Hole at The Lift Neighborhood Bar and Grill, Esplin has been taking students there for a few years now. We practice taking commercial photography of some of the best food in town! We take over half of the restaurant with 30 photographers and they bring plate after plate of gorgeous food. If you’ve ever wanted to go to a photography workshop, then tend to look like this..
As you can tell, it was a little crowded so not only did you have to make the food look as good as it does in person, but you also have to communicate with everyone at the table on where you want to set up the light. With everyone leaning over the table, you also need to make sure that you don’t get anyone else in your background.
After all was said and done, we got to chow down on these picture perfect meals. We had such a great time, and I will never forget all the energy, emotion, stress, and friendship that came from such a great group of artist.
