Photoshop like 2018 Tomb Raider Movie Poster

I had too much fun with the Tomb Raider Movie Poster that I had to do another!
First off, You have to start with a good image!! I took this photo in a studio with a 7 light set up. I paid close attention to accent lights and where they were giving me separation. I also used a red gel on a light because she has one on her back in the movie poster. I’ve made a lot of goofy Photoshop photos, putting myself in with Heath Ledger’s Joker, me and my favorite football players. The ones that look the best is the ones where you can match the light source on both images. It just won’t look believable if it is not matching.
This one  I was creating completely from scratch. No reference photo, just basing my effects off the current movie poster.
I had this shot of me that I liked because it showed more of the scars and dirt. Lara Croft can’t go 5 minuets in the game without her getting cut or scrapped in a cut scene.

The hardest part this time was the background. Since I already spent time figuring out that I needed a cyan and red split tone over my image to give it the similar look the movie poster had.
There are not many photos of the upcoming movie out yet, so I had to create a background from the little space on the sides behind her in the movie poster.

I am surprised how similar my background looks. I had to do a ton of blending and clone stamp, but I cleared out a good portion of her to get the desired background. It needed a slight grain and the red lens flares as well as some grunge to it. I took the title from the movie poster and cut out the words. Putting it behind me to give it that movie poster look. I left some of the dark cut outs on the title on purpose to give it more of the grunge look as well as tie in better with the full length image. I hope to do more Lara Croft edits once more of the teasers slowly come out.
