Tomb Raider 2018 – Movie Poster
Based off of Lara Croft in the 2013 Tomb Raider relaunch series
Back in 2013, IGN released the start of their new series of Tomb Raider games. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I’ve always been a fan of Lara Croft, and this new game only fed the fire. The graphics are beautiful and the game play is exciting and mysterious. Fast forward to 2017 when they released a trailer for an upcoming film based off the new launched games.
When I saw our class had an assignment to imitate a movie poster, it didn’t take more then a second to deiced I would do Tomb Raider. The challenge was not only in Photoshop, but it had to be a self portrait. I had my husband stand in for me while I set up the studio lights, but because he is taller, bigger, and muscular, he would have to make adjustments once I stood in for Lara. He was so patient with me and spent 3 hours with me in the studio. Seeing the final results really made all that time worth it.
I had a seven light set up:
- Hair Light
- Main Light
- Fill Light
- Background Light
- Red Accent light
- Two white accent lights
This was such a fun assignment. It was tricky too because the movie doesn’t come out until 2018, so there aren’t many images, or poster out yet. Playing the games and knowing the character made it easier for me to put together the out fit. My favorite weapon in the game is her bow, so I did get some shots with that, in case they come out with a new poster, I can create one as well.
